BE STRAIGHT.BE HONEST. BE UP FRONT.

These rules protect useful public discussion and private work. They are conduct rules, not a substitute for a confidentiality agreement.

Rules

  1. 1

    Say what you mean.

Ask real questions, give direct answers, and distinguish fact, experience, estimate, and opinion.

  2. 2

    Do not fake proof.

Do not invent credentials, results, customers, revenue, research, availability, authorship, or work you did not do.

  3. 3

    Treat people like capable adults.

No harassment, discrimination, threats, intimidation, doxxing, sexual misconduct, retaliation, or personal attacks. Challenge the work without degrading the person.

Rules

  1. 4

    Keep private work private.

Do not screenshot, forward, quote, copy, download, or reference protected submissions, private messages, Ability Profiles, records, or project details outside their intended context.

  2. 5

Do not post secrets in public.

Open Floor posts and contact messages are not Idea Records. Remove confidential, employer, client, personal, financial, credential, and protected project information before posting.

  3. 6

Use material you have the right to use.

Disclose relevant third-party, licensed, open-source, automated, or AI-assisted material. Do not pass copied work off as your own.

Rules

  1. 7

    Keep public help bounded.

The Open Floor is not a hiring board, service marketplace, investment channel, recruiting pool, or place to negotiate ownership. Move real project work into a protected scope before it begins.

  2. 8

    No promotion or manipulation.

No spam, link farming, engagement bait, fake accounts, ranking games, coordinated voting, undisclosed promotion, or attempts to influence reviews and moderation through deception.

  3. 9

    No outside exploitation.

Do not solicit members for an outside venture, scheme, investment, job, service, romantic contact, or other purpose that uses access to the community against them.

Rules

  1. 10

    Report real concerns.

Report a violation with the available context. We prohibit retaliation for good-faith reports and limit disclosure where practical, subject to safety, investigation, and legal duties.

  2. 11

    Moderation has a record.

CTRLALTDEFECT may label, limit, remove, suspend, or end access based on context, severity, history, and risk. Material decisions state the reason and available review path. Serious safety or legal issues may require immediate action.

  3. 12

    Corrections beat coverups.

If you made an honest mistake, correct it visibly. Quietly rewriting material history, destroying evidence, or lying after the fact makes the problem worse.

THE STANDARD DOES NOT CHANGE WHEN THE CONVERSATION GETS HARD.

Be straight. Be honest. Be up front.
