TWO PATHS.ONE STANDARD.

Bring an idea worth testing or an ability worth proving. Protection comes first. Material decisions and accepted contributions are recorded as described in the process. A record shows what happened; the controlling agreement and applicable law decide the right earned.

Before either path

Create an account.

Give us basic identity and contact information. Do not disclose an idea in the registration fields.

Read the expectation.

You see what we expect from you and what you can expect from us before either side commits time.

Before either path

Pay nothing to enter.

There is no application fee, review-priority fee, membership tier, or paid route to partnership.

Idea path

  1. 1

Start without handing over the idea.

Create the account and choose Bring an Idea. Share no sensitive details yet.

  2. 2

    Activate mutual protection.

Read and accept the actual Mutual Protection Agreement. CTRLALTDEFECT records its acceptance too. Do not continue until the account shows protection as active.

  3. 3

    Create the Idea Record.

Submit the problem, customer, evidence, proposed solution, risks, constraints, and what you will contribute. The finalized version receives a timestamp and digital fingerprint. Later changes become new versions.

Idea path

  1. 4

    Receive the Build Review.

We review the same ten areas and disclose relevant reviewer conflicts. You may receive questions, but you do not have to perform a pitch.

  2. 5

    Get a written answer.

Advance, Develop, or Decline. The answer explains why, what happens next, and whether new evidence can justify another review.

Ability path

  1. 1

Show what you can do in private.

Create an Ability Profile with real examples, the work you can own, your limits, and your availability. This is not a public résumé.

  2. 2

    Wait for a real need.

CTRLALTDEFECT uses a Needs Map and private shortlist. Profiles are not publicly browsable; authorized staff use them for matching under the applicable terms. You do not bid against other people.

  3. 3

Choose whether to take the call.

A private project invitation gives you a sanitized brief first. You decide whether to hear more and accept the applicable protection terms. A decision not to invite you applies only to that need. Your profile remains available until you close it or a stated refresh date passes.

Ability path

  1. 4

    Agree before you work.

The Help Record signed or accepted through recorded electronic assent states the scope, deadline, acceptance test, confidentiality, expenses, and compensation or earned-right terms. A conversation does not authorize free work.

  2. 5

    Keep the record.

Accepted contributions enter your Contribution Ledger. The ledger shows what you did and what you earned under the written terms, even if the project later changes.

Where the paths meet

  1. 1

    Advance and match are different.

An idea receives Advance and opens build planning. A contributor may match to that Advanced project. Accepted contribution can support a later partnership invitation; it does not create Advance or ownership.

  2. 2

    Map the need.

The Needs Map names the smallest team, missing capabilities, budget, risks, and next test.

  3. 3

    Work under a scope.

Early project work uses a Help Record signed or accepted through recorded electronic assent, or another signed project agreement. Nobody works under assumed terms.

Where the paths meet

  1. 4

    Consider partnership.

After the project and people prove enough, CTRLALTDEFECT may invite the founder or contributor to discuss a Defect Partnership. You cannot apply for or purchase that invitation.

  2. 5

    Sign the Partnership Record.

Ownership, vesting, compensation, authority, IP, expenses, milestones, deadlock, withdrawal, buyout, reversion, and exit terms are agreed before they apply.

  3. 6

    Build and test.

The team builds the smallest honest test, measures what happened, and decides whether to continue, change, pause, or stop.

Where the paths meet

  1. 7

    Review at ten months.

Ten months in, everybody has to earn month eleven. That is the standard for the review, not an automatic loss of work, rights, ownership, or the existing deal. The team continues, signs a change, arranges a clean continuation, or follows an exit right already written into the agreement.

Founder work follows the same terms-before-work rule after Advance. Founder status alone does not make project labor free, authorize expenses, create compensation, or decide ownership of new project assets.

Possible destinations

Continue together.

The work, evidence, and relationship still hold up. The existing deal continues or everyone signs a change.

Continue without one party.

A person may step away while the business continues under the agreed transfer, buyout, transition, and credit terms.

Pause or close.

The project may not justify more time or money. The controlling agreements and applicable law decide what happens to assets, licenses, confidential information, vested rights, unpaid approved compensation, and the founder’s protected disclosure.

PROTECTION FIRST.THEN THE WORK.

Pay nothing to enter. There is no application fee, review-priority fee, membership tier, or paid route to partnership.

PICK THE PATH THAT MATCHES WHERE YOU ACTUALLY ARE.

You do not need a performance. You need something real to bring and the willingness to do the work.
